Friends
The true wealth of a nation is not contained in coffers or vaults, but rather in the hearts and souls of its people. Our joy has been increased by being able to spend time with friends, some of which we have not seen for 15 years...
-
Madrid - Jeremy and Ena Reines, and sons Lync and Ayden. We went for a stroll through Madrid's Sunday morning "Rastro" flea market.
-
Vigo - Jose Antonio and Manoli Marques de Magallanes and daughters Lili and Maria. We shared meals, mushroom and chestnut harvesting, and visits to an ancient Celtic settlement
-
Sevilla - Pedro Robles [childhood friend of our buddy Richard Stark]. We stopped by for tapas and [the next day for ] lunch...introducing ourselves to Pedro, hoping that Rich and his wife Hilary will be soon able to go there themselves.
-
Jerez de la Frontera - Mercedes Valero and her friend Paco, Elias and Nieves Rodriguez and their son Alberto...and Alberto's girlfriend Rocio and her family. Meals, strolls, picnics, and lots of laughter.
-
Jerez de la Frontera 2 - Nephew Brian Heeter, who is in Spain for a temporary work assignment and with his coworker Jon was able to come for a visit.
-
Llucmajor, Mallorca - Montserrat Pons, who like me loves growing figs.....lots of them! He has 1100 varieties!
