We chose Zamora as a stop on our drive from Galicia to Andalucia, and couldn't be more pleased. Its old quarter overlooks the formidable Duero river and contains an interesting cathedral and other monuments. Because we visited on a Monday [arrived Sunday, departed Tuesday], many sights were closed. However, except for the rain and wind that were widespread in Iberia that day, everything was perfect.
